Dilation and Curettage (D&C) is a surgical procedure to remove tissue from inside the uterus. INDICATIONS: • Incomplete / missed miscarriage • Molar pregnancy • Abnormal uterine bleeding investigation • Post-partum haemorrhage (retained products) • Endometrial biopsy • Cervical stenosis dilation PROCEDURE: • Day-care procedure — usually does not require overnight hospital stay • Performed under general or regional anaesthesia • Quick recovery with minimal discomfort DIAGNOSTIC VALUE: Tissue obtained sent for histopathological examination to rule out endometrial hyperplasia or malignancy.
