Infertility Evaluation

Infertility affects many couples and has multiple potential causes. Dr. Farida Khan provides systematic evaluation of the female partner. COMMON CAUSES IN WOMEN: • Ovulatory disorders (PCOS, premature ovarian failure) • Tubal factors (blocked tubes, pelvic adhesions, endometriosis) • Uterine factors (fibroids, polyps, septum, Asherman's syndrome) • Cervical factors • Unexplained infertility EVALUATION: • Detailed menstrual and reproductive history • Hormonal profile (Day 2–3 FSH, LH, AMH, prolactin, thyroid) • Pelvic ultrasound — follicular tracking, antral follicle count • HSG (hysterosalpingography) — tubal patency • Diagnostic laparoscopy and hysteroscopy when indicated MANAGEMENT: • Treatment of underlying cause (hormonal, surgical) • Ovulation induction • Referral for ART (IVF/ICSI) when indicated
