Uterine prolapse occurs when the uterus descends from its normal position into or beyond the vaginal canal. GRADING: • Grade 1 — Descent into the upper vagina • Grade 2 — Descent to the vaginal introitus • Grade 3 — Descent outside the vaginal introitus • Grade 4 — Complete procidentia TREATMENT: • Conservative — pelvic floor exercises, ring pessary (non-surgical option) • Surgical — vaginal hysterectomy, pelvic floor repair (anterior / posterior colporrhaphy), Manchester repair ASSOCIATED CONDITIONS: • Cystocele (bladder prolapse) • Rectocele (rectal wall prolapse) • Stress urinary incontinence • Vault prolapse (after hysterectomy)
